We will become the ones we've been waiting for only once we become more like the One who's been waiting for us.

I agree. But who or what is "the One" who's been waiting for us? Do we find it in a Judaism, Christianity, or Islam that is not so esoteric as to be unrecognizably Jewish, Christian, or Muslim? And do we find it in Gagdad's One Cosmos unless we look very hard and overlook a lot of what we find there?

I read this as a call for authenticity, clarity, or base awareness. The One who is waiting for us IS the One we are looking for.
I tend to agree with your reading, Tom. But I question how likely we are to find this "One" through a traditional monontheistic religion, even as Gagdad interprets it.
Are we beginning a new obsession with Godwin?
No, Shirley, I don't think I'm becoming "obsessed." But I alternate between periods of reading his blog and periods when I don't, and I will say this about his blog--when I DO read it, there's almost always something provocative enough to comment on. I particularly like his quote about the One waiting for us being the One we're waiting for, even if I'm not sure what he personally means by that "One" or if it truly exists.
Was he referring "specifically" to MOI? Do I fly high enough on his bobservational radar for that? If so, I have a few questions about the comment you quoted. Is his comment true? Am I a "nadless" seeker? Does he not champion a hateful "spirituality"? Is he acting sagaciously unambiguous and discerning rather than foolishly pugnacious and judgmental?
Inquiring minds want to know.
