If McCain suffered what he did as a result of being shot down doing something he shouldn't have been doing, how much credit should he receive for it?Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02549770321948541384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10032287.post-89653150312273811772008-09-05T13:09:00.000-07:002008-09-05T13:09:00.000-07:00Nagarjuna,It's unfortunate that McCain had a tough...Nagarjuna,

It's unfortunate that McCain had a tough life but just think about this... if someone had an aircraft and bombed innocent civilians in Washington DC what do you think the US Military would have done to him/her is caught? Wouldn't they have tortured him/her just like what the Cong did to McCain?

I like the people of the USA but damn it it just wasn't right for them to bomb civilians in Vietnam.

Grateful SaidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10032287.post-44957051700995700912008-09-05T12:02:00.000-07:002008-09-05T12:02:00.000-07:00Said--I agree that McCain's speech was underwhelmi...Said--
I agree that McCain's speech was underwhelming. I agree that he looks old and bordering, sometimes, on senile. His 96-year-old mother looks more on-the-ball than he does. And that's not surprising given what he's gone through in his life. His ordeal in Vietnam probably erased years if not decades from his lifespan and could well have undermined his mental as well as physical health. And then there's his having had melanoma, one of the deadliest cancers around and which can reappear almost instantly in a terminal stage. All of this makes his VP choice very important, and I definitely don't like what I see in her.

I sure hope you're right and I'm wrong about who's likely to win the election.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02549770321948541384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10032287.post-51781225292081080942008-09-05T11:32:00.000-07:002008-09-05T11:32:00.000-07:00THanks for posting my comment. From staring at his teleprompter all night to acting like he was popping tranquilizers back at his hotel he sounded like he was under the influence of something or someone or simply just was showing his age.

Let's be honest, his time was 8 years ago and now it's gone.

He did nothing but repeat over and over he was some sort of war hero bombing poor civilians from 40,000 feet.
