John McCain: American Gigolo?

What's most notable about John McCain's confusion over the number of homes he owns isn't merely that it demonstrates that, after running his campaign based on depicting Barack Obama as an out-of-touch elitist and himself as the all-American Everyman, McCain lives a life that is about as far removed from the Average American as one can get, and has done so for decades. What's notable is how McCain was able to live that way. McCain himself isn't actually rich. He just lives off the inherited wealth of his much younger former mistress and now-second-wife -- for whom he dumped his older and disfigured first wife -- and who then used her family's money to fund McCain's political career and keep him living in extreme luxury (after insisting that he sign a prenuptial agreement, which would make McCain the first U.S. President to have one).

Steve,

What's wrong with leaving my first disfigured wife? After all she went damn ugly on me. Yep, she looked like she'd been whipped with an UUUUUGLY stick.

It's only natural a man needs to get a woody once in a while and looking at that shiit made my "Little Johnny" retract into my intestines.

And look, you Bleeding Heart Lib, marrying women for their money wasn't a crime the last I looked.

Did you call John Kerry an American Gigolo when he ran?

Did you know that McCain houses some of his poorer relatives in those homes?
How is Obama treating the least of his brothers in Africa? You know, the one living in a mud hut on $1 per month?

Steve,

Still waiting with bated breath for your Vice Presidential text message?

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahah!

Obama just loves throwing people under the bus on his claw to the top.

Steve,

Don't you ever get full from the bullshit being fed to you by the shills at Time and Newsweak?
BTW, did you cut out and frame the picture of The Annointed One from the newest cover of Time and place it on your wall between your pictures of The Budda and Nagarjuna?
It's the seventh in a series don't ya know.

Todd--
Are you saying that McCain didn't cheat on his disfigured first wife and then dump her to marry, with a prenuptial agreement, his ultra-rich current wife who has helped to bankroll his political career? If you're not saying this, where's the B.S. in the Greenwald quote? Or are YOU the one who is, as usual, spouting the B.S.?

Did you print the same story when Kerry was runnung?

No, I didn't call Kerry an American gigolo when he ran. The Republicans took care of that.

If what you say is true, good for McCain for "housing some of his poorer relatives in some of those homes." If Obama had married a wealthy woman and could afford as many homes as McCain has, perhaps he would house some of his poorer "brothers" in them too. However, I think Greenwald wasn't criticizing McCain's wealth as much as he was the Republican attempt to portray McCain as being, unlike "elitist" Obama, in touch with the middle and poorer classes.

Steve, I'm very happy with the way things are going at this moment. A superb choice for Vice President and a beautiful press conference announcing the event.

It's going to happen and we're going to prevail over the trolls who have discovered your blog as a place to spew the venom in their unenlightened hearts. Don't let it worry you. We are old enough and patient enough to wait until it all works out.

Mary Lois--
As I posted previously, Biden would have been MY choice for president. As it is, I couldn't be more pleased with Obama's VP choice, although I think Biden might serve this nation even better as Secretary of State.

Unfortunately, I've felt for quite some time that it's all academic in that McCain will win the election. Maybe this feeling is largely the result of my listening to so much conservative talk radio, in that there's no longer any liberal talk radio in the Sacramento area. But I see how Obama's been slipping in the polls, I know how ruthlessly effective the Rovian Republican attack machine can be, and I've never been guilty of overestimating the intelligence and wisdom of the American public.

Still, I'm happy about Obama's choice and look forward to seeing what transpires. And I'd love to have Obama as our president with Biden standing very capably by his side.

Thanks to Steve, we've discovered your blogs also Mary Lois, just haven't gotten over there yet.

And Steve,
Obama could give his brother $20 and it would triple his yearly income yet he hasn't done it.

If you're threatening to harass Mary Lois for commenting on my blog, you're even more pathetic than I thought. And even though I'm quite sure that she could handle your insults with aplomb, if you DO end up going over there and making an ass of yourself, not only will she probably ban you over there, but I most certainly will over here. So, if you want to continue having a voice here, behave yourself.

It's all your fault Steve.

How about an answer to Obamas' $20 question? Where's the love?

Take a look at what Obama has given as a percentage of his income to charity and compare it to McCain. Then take a look at Kerry/Bush, Gore/Bush, Clinton/Dole, ClintonBush, and on down the line. It's not even close. Yet they want to use the power of government to do something they aren't willing to do themselves, freely. Sounds like a couple bloggers I know.

I guess I shouldn't have left my deformed wife; I guess I shouldn't have taped propaganda for the North Vietnamese Communists when my fellow prisoners refused; I guess I shouldn't have helped ruin hard working people's lives by me running with the Keating Five. But simple as simple, I just asked Jesus for forgiveness and he said "Sure thing, Senator McCain!

God I love being a Conservative Christian and a Capitalist and knowing Jesus Christ personally.

Well, thank you Anonymous, I'm glad you see that I have given to charity in a big way myself.

I suppose my most charitable contributions were to the "Communist North Vietnamese Propaganda Foundation," to the "American Traitors Association," to the "Abandon a Poor, Deformed Wife Institute," and to the "Keating Five (steal regular guys life savings) Legal Defense."

Now how could I possibly lose the presidency with sharp guys like you voting for me.

Steve,

Are you talking to yourself here through Anon. and McSame?

Steve said...

Todd-
No, I'm not.

Anonymous said...

I agree that Joe Biden has excellent judgement.

Anonymous said...

And in keeping with the compassianate and generous Democrats and their charitable giving, we find that Joe Biden gave a whoping .0034% of his income to charity according to his latest tax returns.
Now there's a man who puts his money where his mouth is.

Steve,

You still haven't answered the $20 Obama question.
